Core Development has submitted to the City of Toronto a Development Proposal for a mid-rise 9-storey mixed-use building, consisting of 71 dwelling units, 4,958.3 square metres of residential GFA, and 140 square metres of at-grade commercial/retail space. The location is the old Salvation Army Building on Parliament in between Dundas and Shuter. The Cabbagetown South Residents Association and area residents have met virtually with the developer and their team to discuss the plan. At this point in the process we have been informed that the units are to be rental apartments and a large percentage to be larger units. Some preliminary work will begin to facilitate demolition the week of October 8, 2020. A formal notice of any public meeting held by the City will be sent to property owners within 120m (400 feet) of the property.[/vc_row]
