Don’t let this happen to YOU!

We’re continuing to experience a high volume of car break-ins, usually be smashing the vehicle’s windows. Residents on Seaton St. seem to be the hardest hit. If you don’t want to be a victim – start by removing any bricks, loose pavers or garden stones from the front of your property.  These are being used to smash car windows.

Important reminders to keep your car safe:

  1. Ensure you leave ABSOLUTELY NOTHING visible in your vehicle.  No loose change, cellphone chargers or earphones.  Your car should look absolutely empty.
  2. Always try to park in a place that is well-lit.
  3.  If you drive a station wagon or hatchback, if the trunk is empty, leave the cargo cover open (if possible).
  4. Ensure you phone the police non-emergency number 416-808-2222 and get an incident number
    or report online www.torontopolice.on.ca/core
  5. Take pictures and e-mail them to us at info@cabbagetownsouth.ca, along with the location.  We’re keeping a comprehensive record to work with police to apprehend the thieves.
  6. Finally, also let your neighbours know if your car has been tampered with because thieves often scout an area and then return to it.
