Mayor Tory Visits Sherbourne & Dundas

A week ago, Cabbagetown South Residents Association invited Mayor Tory to Sherboune and Dundas for a walk and talk with area residents.

Monday August 13, 2018. Mayor Tory and Councilor Troisi started the walk at Sherboune and Dundas through Callaghan Lane. As we walked the Mayor was able to speak with area business owners, the men, women and children from our association, as well as other residents including Margaret’s staff and clients. No one was left out and anyone who wanted to speak with him, did.

People were able tell their story of living in Cabbagetown South and the drastic deterioration in our neighbourhood in the last 6 months. He got the full flavour of our neighbourhood.

We Introduced him to Jan & Wayne, outreach workers from Margaret’s. They have been a great help to residents in the last months with the issues of violence, overdoses, needles and concerning behaviour our in alleys and streets and on our properties.

His last stop was Margret’s on Dundas to meet Everton, staff and clients. Mayor Tory was very generous with his time and spent two hours engaging with the residents.

CSRA is continuing to work with the mayor and our councilor to make Cabbagetown South a safe place again.

We would like to thank the Mayor Tory for coming.
