Oben Flats development slated to go to the OMB and Toronto East York Council in September
Oben Flats, developers of the vacant lot at Gerrard and Sherbourne are proceeding with theirapplication to the Ontario Municipal Board. That prehearing conference date has been set for September 13th at 10:00 am 655 Bay Street, 16th floor. Oben Flats feel the City failed to render a decision about their proposal in a timely manner and have gone directly to the OMB.
The proposal is finally going to Toronto/East York Community Council on September 6th 9:30 am. The meeting at city hall will likely determine whether city planners and legal department will file an objection to the proposal and attend the OMB Hearing.
The information we have received indicates that the proposal is still 13-14 storey residential building with 93 rental units on the property. Parties that wish to present evidence, questions and argurments should attend this prehearing conference.
A new planner, Derek Waltho has been assigned to the development. He is in the final stages of writing a direction report and that will be available on line prior to the September 6th meeting. Will advise details on the community council meeting as well as the OMB hearing when we receive it. To see details regarding what we currently know about this development please click here.
